IBM Switzerland: Computer centers

Computer center in Winterthur

In Winterthur, IBM operates a computer center in a two-center concept, providing an area of ca. 2,000 m2 in the current expansion phase. To accommodate further growth, areas were additionally fitted out as customer rooms and offices.

Beta coordinated all aspects of the expansion of this IBM computer center with office space, one of the most modern facilities in Europe. The assignment also encompasses the negotiation of use and investment contracts and was executed between 2001 and 2002.

The main areas of focus for the client representation are the preparation of comprehensive specifications for the planning, management and oversight of implementation in accordance with client needs and the representation of IBM's interests vis-à-vis the investor and the planning team.

All tenant enhancement installations were ready for handover to IBM on schedule. Working within an extremely tight deadline of seven months, all the adjustments to the existing infrastructure and the fitting out of the new CC space were realized. Beta made a substantial contribution to ensuring that IBM's ambitious cost and deadline objectives could be met.

Computer center in Geneva

Acting as general planner, we erected a new IBM customer computer center from 1999 to 2000 in a commercial building in Geneva, working with the planning team we assembled for the job. High-level security requirements and high installation density defined the specifications.

We fulfilled the tight cost parameters and deadlines as well as all qualitative and functional requirements.
